Lakeesha Ramanayake

Co-founder

Senior software engineer and technical lead with a first-class ICT degree and an MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with research on optimising deep learning architectures. Lakeesha designs system integrations, leads engineering teams in fintech, and works with clients to turn business requirements into scalable systems.

Hiruka Ranasinghe

Co-founder

Consultant with a first-class ICT degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Moratuwa, with research combining deep learning, ontologies and retrieval-augmented generation with large language models. Before Serencia, Hiruka built Angular business applications, then Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 solutions.

Where does the name come from?

Serencia joins Seren, from Serendib, the old name of Sri Lanka and the source of the word serendipity, and cia, from the Latin scientia, knowledge. Say it se-ren-see-ah.
